A Ministry of Presence
Illness and old age can be deeply lonely. Our visiting ministry brings the love and prayers of the Church to those who cannot come to it — at home, in hospital and in care homes — so that no member of our family is ever forgotten.
Our volunteers offer companionship, practical help and, where desired, prayer and the reading of Scripture. At the request of the sick, they help arrange for one of the fathers to visit for confession, Communion or the sacrament of Holy Unction.
“Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him.”
